Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed under general anaesthetic. An incision is made into the breast and an implant is inserted to increase the fullness of the breast. The position of the incision is chosen carefully so that scarring is minimised. The surgery takes about two hours, and usually you will be able to go home the same day.

If you are unhappy with the size, shape or position of your breasts, have experienced changes in your breasts following pregnancy, weight loss or the natural ageing process, you may consider augmentation. Sagging, small, or asymmetric breasts cause distress and lack of confidence for many women. Breast surgery is an effective and increasingly popular procedure to have the curves you always wanted (or used to have!) and give your confidence an incredible boost.
The process starts with a consultation with your surgeon to discuss the look you want and your medical history. The breast surgeon will advise you whether the surgery is suitable for you, and recommend the best type and size of implant for you.
As with any surgery, there may be some swelling, bruising and pain for the first few days, and you may need some pain relief and one to two weeks off work. You will be given a surgical bra to wear for about six weeks to help with recovery.
The results are immediate, but because of bruising, swelling, and recovery time for the incision point, it takes a few months for everything to settle and to see the full results. Within about three months your breasts will be perkier, shapely and feminine.
